Is the sandwich on board dishwasher safe?
No, the sandwich on board is not dishwasher safe.
How should the bamboo board be treated and cared for?
We recommend using a food safe mineral oil and applying with a cotton cloth once a month (if you are using the board regularly). Make sure you wipe off any excess oil. This will ensure that it does not dry out and crack.
What are the benefits of bamboo as a board material?
Technically speaking, bamboo is a grass and not a wood. It is a sustainable resource due to the fact that it grows so quickly and can be harvested. It is a very dense wood and this means that it holds less moisture compared with other wooden boards. It also makes it less prone to warping (if cared for correctly)
How should the bamboo be cleaned?
Clean your bamboo board with hot water and soap or a dilution of bleach and water (1 tablespoon of bleach per gallon / 4.5l of water). Do not leave the board soaking in water and make sure to dry it with a tea towel or kitchen roll after cleaning.

A word from the designer

Like with any design, when designing the perfect sandwich box, we thought about how we could make it better than the current food containers. As a given, the box had to protect the sandwich from being squashed, but what else could we add? From a personal stand, I love tomatoes in sandwiches, but only when it is freshly made and not when the tomato makes the bread soggy. This formed the inspiration of including the chopping board with the box. It meant that people could chop tomatoes or cucumbers on the board at work, saving time (and washing up) in the morning. The bread could now breath and didn’t get 'sweaty' or squashed by clingfilm or waxy food containers.

No more squashed soggy sarnies! Use the naturally antibacterial, sustainable bamboo lid to create your sandwiches or assemble the ingredients for a delectable meal later in the day.
